Keystone Promise Requirements

Associate and baccalaureate degree students must complete all career-related requirements listed below. in order to fulfill the Keystone College Promise. Sequences are recommended, but students may complete the Promise requirements at any time prior to graduation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Keystone Promise requirements
  • Graduation from Keystone College.

Additional Support (remediation)

If followed and completed, the Keystone Promise requirements are designed to prepare a student to be competitive in the market post-graduation. However, in the event an offer does not occur within six months of graduating, the student is eligible to receive a personalized career development plan that may include up to 12 additional credits of free coursework.

Qualifications:

Students must wait until at least six months after graduating before requesting free coursework and must actively seek employment and/or college admission during that time.

Keystone Promise Requirements (completed prior to graduation):

First Year

  1. Complete the Focus® career assessment program
  2. Complete the Keystone Promise Career Plan and have it reviewed
  3. Attend the fall or spring Career, Internship and Grad School Fair
  4. Login to Handshake and update your account

Second Year

  1. Write a resume and have it reviewed and saved on file with Career Services
  2. Write a cover letter and have it reviewed and saved on file with Career Services
  3. Provide Career Services with contact information for three professional references
  4. Attend the fall or spring Career, Internship and Grad School Fair
  5. Update your Handshake account

Third Year

  1. Complete an internship, shadowing, or Experiential Learning opportunity
  2. Discuss graduate school/plans for additional education with staff or faculty
  3. Create a LinkedIn account and link to Keystone College and Keystone College Career Services
  4. Attend BOTH the fall and spring Career, Internship and Grad School Fair

Fourth Year

  1. Update resume and cover letter and have them approved by staff or faculty
  2. Conduct a job search with some guidance from faculty or staff
  3. Complete a mock interview or interviewing workshop
  4. Update your Handshake and LinkedIn accounts
  5. Attend BOTH the fall and spring Career, Internship and Grad School Fair

After Graduation

Within six months of graduation, please notify Career Services if you have received a job offer or have been accepted into a transfer or graduate program so that we can celebrate your ongoing success!
