Action and Empowerment Center

 

Located in the Hibbard Campus Center, The Action and Empowerment Center creates an open and supportive environment for all students and student groups/clubs by encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and exploration of culture, identity, intersectionality, and difference. The center includes Black Student Union and Student Government offices.

Goals for the Center:

  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for the Keystone College campus community.
  • Establish a space and avenue for identity celebration.
  • Foster meaningful interaction and collaboration between individuals and groups.
  • Develop leaders for positive social transformation.
  • Enhance student learning and personal growth through intentional programs focused on culture, inclusion, and social awareness.

Student Learning Outcomes for the Center:

  • Cultural awareness: Students will acquire and articulate knowledge about various groups and traditions.
  • Cognitive development: Students should experience intellectual and social growth through engagement in inclusive learning environments.
  • Identity exploration: Students should gain a deeper understanding of their ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, and other social identities through participation in programs.
  • Leadership: Programs should provide students with opportunities for leadership development in fostering equity and inclusion.
