Tyair Sanders – Foot Locker

Student Name: Tyair Sanders
Internship Site: Foot Locker

  1. How would you describe your learning experience at the internship site?

My learning experience at Foot Locker was really good because it gave me genuine experience working in a business environment instead of just learning about it in class. I learned a lot about customer service, teamwork, and how a retail store operates every day. It also helped me become more comfortable talking to customers and handling different responsibilities during busy shifts.

  1. What skills did you bring to the internship site?

I brought communication and customer service skills from my past jobs. I was already used to working with people, helping customers, and being part of a team. I also came in with a strong work ethic, stayed on task, and was able to handle working in a fast-paced environment.

  1. What skills did you feel you lacked to complete your internship more effectively?

One thing I lacked at first was product knowledge and experience with some of the store systems and operations. In the beginning, I was still learning how everything worked and how to handle certain situations with customers. I also think improving my leadership and organizational skills would help me do even better in the future, especially since I want to move into management one day.

  1. How do you think the internship will help prepare you to reach your future career goals?

This internship helped prepare me for my future career goals because it gave me hands on experience in business and retail. As a business major, it helped me understand how communication, teamwork, and customer service affect a company. It also made me more interested in management or business operations because I got to see how a business runs daily.

  1. What skills did you take away from the internship?

Some skills I took away from this internship are communication, teamwork, customer service, organization, and time management. I also became better at working under pressure and helping customers more confidently. Overall, the internship helped me grow professionally and gave me experience that I can use in future jobs and my career.
