POSITION: Financial Aid Student Work Study

JOB PURPOSE: The Financial Aid Work-Study Student will work closely with the Financial Aid Counselor to support the daily operations of the Financial Aid Office. This position is ideal for a student who is organized, dependable, creative, and comfortable communicating with others. Responsibilities may include creating and updating student handouts and informational materials, assisting with email communications, tracking FAFSA completion and student follow-up, organizing student records, and supporting special projects. The student will gain hands-on experience with financial aid, student communication, office technology, graphic design, and professional administrative skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Students may not work more than 10 hours per week.
• Work closely with the Financial Aid Counselor to assist with daily office operations and special projects.
• Assist with tracking FAFSA completion and following up with students who have outstanding financial aid requirements.
• Assist with student email communications, including preparing and sending reminders and informational messages.
• Create, update, and organize Financial Aid handouts, flyers, forms, and other informational materials. Creativity and attention to design are encouraged.
• Assist with organizing, filing, scanning, copying, and maintaining student records and office documents while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist with data entry, spreadsheets, tracking sheets, and other administrative tasks.
• Help prepare materials and resources for Financial Aid events, presentations, and student outreach.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful attitude when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Once a schedule has been agreed upon, it is the responsibility of the student employee to:
o Arrive at work on time and ready to perform position-related activities.
o Maintain confidentiality and protect all students financial aid information encountered while working in the office.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be a current Keystone College student eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program.
• Must be dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic office technology.
• Creativity and an interest in designing flyers, handouts, and other student-facing materials is a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential student information professionally and appropriately.
