Keystone College is proud to recognize alumnus Trooper Joseph Perechinsky’16 of Troop R, Gibson, who was awarded the Pennsylvania State Police Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice after being injured in the line of duty during an August shooting in Susquehanna County.
Despite being seriously wounded, Trooper Perechinsky demonstrated extraordinary courage, composure, and quick thinking. He helped save a fellow trooper by applying tourniquets to his wounds before they were evacuated from the scene by another trooper. He also protected the public by stopping a passing tractor-trailer and directing the driver to block the road, preventing additional people from entering the dangerous area.
Keystone College is honored to celebrate Trooper Perechinsky’s heroic actions and proud to count him among our alumni.
