Keystone College/Factoryville to celebrate 25th Christy Mathewson Day
La Plume – Keystone College and Factoryville will come together to celebrate Christy Mathewson Day on Saturday, August 7. This will be the 25th year the two communities have celebrated the life and accomplishments of the Baseball Hall of Fame legend, Keystone graduate, and Factoryville native.
Activities will feature several events including a community parade, a memorabilia display, and a youth football clinic. This year’s schedule includes:
- Noon – 4 p.m.: Community block party at Keystone Campus Commons. Christy Mathewson memorabilia will be on display at the College Eatery and Market.
- 5 p.m.: Parade from Keystone to Factoryville
- 6 p.m. Celebration at Creekside Park including: Boy Scouts Troop 175 Chicken BBQ; Factoryville Little League food concessions; Manning’s Ice Cream truck; Factoryville Women’s Civic League basket raffle.
- 6:30 – 9 p.m. Live music by Static in the Attic
- 7:45 p.m. Factoryville United Methodist Church pie auction
- Dusk: Fireworks presented by the Factoryville Men’s Civic Club
Moved to Sunday, Aug. 8:
11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Keystone Football Youth Clinic at the Keystone Athletic Field and Track Complex. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
