Keystone College observatory announces spring schedule

Mar 12, 2021

La Plume – The Thomas G. Cupillari ’60 Astronomical Observatory will begin its spring schedule on Wednesday, April 7 and will continue each Wednesday and Friday evening from 8:30-10:30 p.m. through Friday, May 28. The sessions are provided free of charge as a community service. Advanced registration or reservations are not required.

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, masks will be required and social distancing protocols will be followed. The main classroom building will be open only for restroom use and no formal talks or programs will be presented. There will be no arrangements for special group nights. All gatherings will be outdoors or in unheated Observatory buildings so those attending should dress accordingly. The main objects which can be viewed include the Moon and stars. Overcast skies or inclement weather will force cancellation of the evening’s session.

For more information, contact Jo-Ann Kamichitis, 570-945-8402 or visit www.keystone.edu/observatory.

The Thomas G. Cupillari ’60 Astronomical Observatory is located on Route 107, approximately two miles west of Interstate 81, exit 202, and approximately two miles east of Fleetville.
