Keystone College will conduct virtual commencement in May and plans in-person celebration this fall

Apr 20, 2020

La Plume – Keystone College will conduct a virtual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 23, 2020. The College had previously announced that due to the COVID-19 crisis, the planned May 9 traditional Commencement at the Pavilion at Montage could not be conducted.

In addition to the May virtual ceremony, Keystone is planning to host an in-person celebration for members of the Class of 2020 during Homecoming Weekend on October 9-11. The optional in-person October event will be conducted on campus to honor the 2020 graduates The specific day during Homecoming Weekend will be announced in the near future.

The May 23 virtual ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., the same time as the in-person ceremony would have been conducted. The virtual ceremony will be streamed and accessible through the College’s website at www.keystone.edu. Additional details on the virtual and in-person Commencements will be announced in the near future.

Conducting both a May virtual Commencement and a planned in-person celebration during the fall helps honor the wishes by many Keystone seniors who had requested one option or the other.

“Although we are unable to conduct our annual Commencement at the Pavilion at Montage as we had hoped, our virtual ceremony will honor the tremendous accomplishments of our graduating seniors.  Later in the fall, during Homecoming Weekend, we plan to invite members of the Class of 2020 back to campus to a wonderful in-person celebration as well.”
