Undergraduate research forum featured more than 165 exhibits
Keystone College students had the opportunity to present their best academic work during the 2018 Spring Undergraduate Research and Creativity Celebration held on April 25, 2018 in the Theatre In Brooks.
The forum featured more than 165 exhibits highlighting year-long faculty-mentored research, creative works, and senior capstone projects. The academic work, representing Keystone’s School of Arts and Sciences and School of Professional Studies, included research in science, technology, art, business, communications, and education.
While all of the presentations represented excellent academic work, several Keystone students were awarded special honors. Gwenddolen Kettenburg, New Albany, Pa., received the Keystone Innovation Award. Alexandra Rizzuto, Lafayette, N.J. received the Excellence in Research Award, and Melanie Rosato, Scranton, received the Excellence in Creativity Award.
Artwork by Keystone students Trista Carpenter, West Abington Twp. and Jessica Maietta, Dalton, was selected for use in the program booklet, as was a poem written by student Jennifer Ocana, Starlight, Pa. Featured speaker at the event was 2011 Keystone graduate John Moran, computer systems networking instructor at Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County.
