Keystone College will kick off the holiday season by hosting The Pennsylvania Jazz Alliance’s performance of The Jazz Nutcracker Suite on Sunday, November 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Theatre in Brooks on campus.

The performance is free and open to the public as a gift by Keystone to the community. Advanced reservations are required by contacting Kate Dempsey Jones, (570) 945-8161 or by November 28. Guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a toy drive sponsored by students in Keystone’s business ethics class to benefit the Catherine McCauley Center in Scranton.

The Jazz Nutcracker Suite features the timeless music of Peter Ilych Tchaikovsy re-arranged for jazz-big band performance by American jazz masters Duke Ellington and Shorty Rogers. The event will mark the first time the Jazz Nutcracker Suite will be performed in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Founded by Marko Marcinko, The PA Jazz Alliance brings top professional jazz, blues, and Latin music and world-class musicians to Northeastern Pennsylvania and the entire state. Through performances and educational workshops, the Alliance strives to bring the highest level of music and instruction to the public.
