Apr 10, 2025

Keystone College was well represented at the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania’s (AICUP) Day on the Hill at the Pennsylvania State Capitol.

Keystone students had the opportunity to advocate on the College’s behalf during meetings with Rep. Kyle Mullins and Rep. Kyle Donahue, as well as Abreham Kittle ’18, Alumna of Keystone and Research Analyst for Senator Patty Kim; and Chris Ramsey, Legislative Director for Senator Lisa Baker.

Dalten E. Klinges, Devin Montgomery, Raymond J. Moreta, Brandon J. Ratliff, Fisher Sheffield, Nick H. Swift, and Makayla Sigafoos joined over students from 26 different colleges and universities across the state to champion for PA State Grant Programs in private education.

AICUP Day on the Hill is an annual event where students from independent colleges and universities in Pennsylvania gather at the Harrisburg Capitol to advocate for their institutions and student aid funding. On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, roughly 150 student participated in the rally, meeting with legislators to discuss the importance of financial aid programs like the Pennsylvania State Grant, which helps students afford tuition at private colleges.

It is a unique opportunity for participants to meet with legislators and see how the advocacy process works in Harrisburg.
