Second Year Activities
In your second year, explore opportunities for faculty interaction, increase your involvement in student organizations, community service, and leadership-building experiences.
Academic
- Consider a study abroad experience and/or undergraduate research opportunity
- Consider declaring a minor
- Start developing your portfolio (major specific)
Advising Services
- Schedule a meeting with your advisor to discuss your major/minor and academic progress
- Schedule another meeting with your advisor to prepare for registration
Career Services and Promise Requirements
Career Development
- Continue to explore how majors align with career paths of interest
- Job shadow with employers who work in career fields of interest
Keystone Promise
- Write a resume and have it reviewed and saved on file with Career Services
- Write a cover letter and have it reviewed
- Provide Career Services with contact information for three professional references
- Attend the Fall or Spring Career, Internship and Grad School Fair
- Update your Handshake account
Student Life
- Participate in civic engagement and service learning with a project that fosters your passions and skills
- Take a leadership role in Civic Engagement, Residence Life, clubs and organizations on campus
- Continue to get involved in activities and participate in service opportunities
