Lenape storyteller Kevin O’Connell to visit Keystone – Keystone College

The Keystone College Concert and Lecture Series will present the program, “Wisdom of the Elders” by Lenape Native American storyteller Kevin “Two Step” O’Connell on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m. in Evans Hall in Hibbard Campus Center.

Mr. O’Connell, a member of the Munsee Delaware Indian nation, is a recognized expert on the Lenape, a Native American tribe which inhabited parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, and Connecticut.

He has been involved with researching and collecting artifacts of the Lenape people for more than 40 years. Today, he specializes in presenting informative and educational programs at schools, camps, festivals, and other gatherings.

At Keystone, he will present an animated retelling of favorite Native American legends ranging from the story of creation to tales reflecting tribal ideals of conduct, behavior, and respect for the Earth.

The presentation is open to the public and is free of charge.
