About the exhibit

Abraham Camayd

Manifestations: excerpts from a Painterly Impression

An expression of the artist’s personal experiences of sublimity, Manifestations is a collection of intimate and alternatively dynamic monotype images referencing landscapes, natural atmospheric phenomenon, and psychologically suggestive interior spaces. Camayd’s use of the monotype process allows him to embrace chance, intuition, and spontaneity in the making of these visceral images.

Cliff Prokop, Keystone College Professor

at the intersection of choice and chance

Long recognized for his beautiful albeit edgy cast metal vessels, furnishings, and sculpture, (which are included in this exhibition,) Prokop’s most recent work continues to reference the evolution of technology and nature – but his terms have changed. Three dimensional printing capabilities have informed a highly idea imbued body of figurative works, capable of existing at a broad range of scales. Prokop has chosen to allow chance elements – unexpected results of this technology – to remain, incorporating them into these final pieces for a disarmingly human touch.
