From: David L. Coppola, Ph.D., President

It is with immense sadness that I write to notify you of the death of two Keystone College students, Michael (Jake) Burkhardt and Tashandra Burton. They, along with four other students, Allison Berman, Kaylee Ceci, Emily Fardoulis, and Josh Zilla were involved in a car accident that occurred Monday night on Routes 6 and 11 near campus. Allison, Kaylee, Emily, and Josh are being treated for their injuries at a local hospital.

As we mourn for Jake and Tashandra and pray for the recovery of Allison, Kaylee, Emily, and Josh, we offer our unyielding support for their families and friends. Our campus community joins together as one to offer our support in every way possible.

Individuals seeking support can contact the Keystone College Counseling Center, located on the second floor of the Hibbard Campus Center, call 570-945-8309, or email counseling@keystone.edu.

An additional announcement will follow with information regarding memorial services.

I join the Keystone community in extending our heartfelt sympathies during this painful time. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends and all those impacted by this tragedy.
