The Keystone College Concerts and Lectures Series will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by presenting The Quietmen, an acoustic rock and Celtic band, on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in the Theatre in Brooks. The performance is free and open to the public.The band, which originated in Scranton, Pa. over a decade ago, plays everything from Irish and Celtic music to folk tunes and acoustic rock from the 1950s through the hits of today at festivals and pubs.

The Quietmen’s earliest musical influences include The Irish Rovers, The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, and The Dubliners. The list has grown over the years to include Great Big Sea; The Saw Doctors; Christy Moore; The Pogues; Jimmy Buffett; The Eagles; Simon & Garfunkel; Crosby, Stills and Nash; and The Monkees, among others.

The Quietmen feature Jamie Ratchford on guitar, vocals, harmonica, and kazoo; Paddy Ratchford on keyboard, vocals, and bodhran (Irish frame drum); Danny Ratchford on guitar, vocals, mandolin and ukulele; and Molly “Quietgirl” Ratchford-Malone on the tin whistle.
