Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe DiPietro is a delightful comedy about family, food, and finding yourself. Nick is a young professional who still has dinner every Sunday with both sets of his loud, Italian grandparents, who find their joy in feeding him and offering unsolicited advice. One day Nick shows up with exciting news: he’s been offered a promotion that will move him across the country. His grandparents are not thrilled by this turn of events and concoct a plan to match Nick up with a lovely young woman named Caitlin, hoping Nick will fall in love and stay put. What follows is an unforgettable dinner of delicious pasta, horrifying personal questions, and an alarming panic attack. Can Nick forgive his grandparents for setting him up with the perfect woman, and then ruining it? Over the River and Through the Woods is just as poignant as it is hilarious, meditating on the nature of growing up and moving on while still loving one’s family and honoring one’s past.
Ticket prices are $8 for general admission; $5 for seniors (55+), veterans, and students; $5 for Keystone College faculty, staff, and alumni; and $2 for current Keystone College students.
