Identifying Faculty Perceptions of Awareness and Preparedness Relating to ADA Responsibilities and Compliance
Presented by Dr. Patricia Bederman Miller, Elizabeth Schneider and Dr. Chad Stevens
Faculty and institutions of higher education are responsible and obligated to meet ADA requirements and compliance. Research indicates the number of disabled students attending institutions of higher education is increasing. Faculty may be unaware and unprepared to meet responsibilities and obligations in meeting ADA requirements and compliance. Because of unawareness and unpreparedness, faculty and institutions of higher education may be ripe for litigation related to ADA noncompliance.
Dr. Patricia Bederman Miller, Elizabeth Schneider, and Dr. Chad Stevens identified faculty perceptions of awareness and preparedness relating to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) responsibilities and compliance at Keystone College, a small, private college in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
