She has been awarded artist in residencies from the Women’s Studio Workshop, the Vermont Studio Center, and Nantucket Island School of Design and her work is included in the permanent collections of the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum and the Artists Association of Nantucket.

Linder Gallery Director James Lansing said he was impressed with Ms. Hinton’s work the moment he saw it while serving as head curator at the Egan Institute on Nantucket Island. “There are many excellent painters represented in the numerous galleries on Nantucket. It is easy for painters to get lost, but Megan’s abstractions caught my attention instantly,” James said. “She is adept at capturing the atmospheric feeling of life along the coast, without resorting to the basic sentimentality often associated with the shore area.”
