Position Summary
Keystone College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sport and Recreation Management, beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate and graduate programs through teaching, research, student advisement, and service to the College. The Sport and Recreation Management program prepares students for diverse careers in the sport and recreation industry, including athletic coaching and leadership roles.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Sport Management, Outdoor Recreation, Sport Tourism, Resort Recreation, Facility and Event Management, Sport Marketing and Promotion, Sport and American Society, and related areas.
- Teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Science in Sport Leadership Management program.
- Contribute to curriculum development in alignment with departmental goals.
- Engage in scholarly activity and research in sport and recreation management or related areas.
- Advise and mentor students; participate in academic and career guidance.
- Serve on departmental and college-wide committees; attend faculty meetings.
- Support and advise student organizations such as the Sport Management and Recreation Club or the e-Sports Club.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Sport Management, Recreation, Park and Tourism, or a closely related field (Ph.D. or ABD preferred).
- Minimum of 3–4 years of industry experience in sport management, e-sports, recreation, or related fields.
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Record of, or potential for, scholarly research and professional development.
- Understanding of and appreciation for a liberal arts educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching as the instructor of record in sport and recreation management or sport leadership courses.
- Proven ability to teach a broad range of topics in sport and recreation management.
- Experience integrating technology into teaching and using technology-supported pedagogy.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Experience working with diverse student populations or applying multicultural teaching approaches.
