POSITION: Wildlife Biology Faculty

REPORTS TO: Department Chair – Biological & Physical Sciences and Mathematics

The Turock School of Arts and Sciences at Keystone College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology to begin August 2024.

A Ph.D. from a regionally or nationally accredited program is required in biology, wildlife biology, ecology, or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment.  A demonstrable ability to teach undergraduate courses in biology, game management, conservation biology, environmental policy and management, and related fields for wildlife biology and environmental science majors. Experience with GIS is a plus. The ability to teach courses in introductory-level and upper-level/masters level courses is required. In addition, the ability to teach a broad range of topics is preferred. Experience with online teaching and learning is beneficial.  The candidate may participate in the development of new courses and curricula.

The successful applicant will exhibit a willingness to mentor undergraduate research projects. All full-time faculty at Keystone College serve as academic advisors and serve on college committees.   The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Scholarship, service to the College, a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentorship of students is expected of all candidates.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be self-motivated.

The Turock School of Arts and Sciences strives to maintain a personalized, student-centered approach to teaching and a collaborative approach to productive undergraduate research. Our degree programs include General Biology, Wildlife Biology, Microbiology, and Environmental Biology, Natural Sciences with Allied Health concentrations, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Public Health.
