POSITION:   Sport and Recreation Management Faculty, Full-Time, Tenure Track, Assistant Professor

REPORTS TO: Department Chair – Business

The Business, Management, and Technology Department at Keystone College invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Sport and Recreation Management beginning August 2023. Expectations include teaching, research and scholarship, student advisement, and service to the College. The Sport and Recreation Management program offers a broad spectrum of courses for professional preparation in the sport and recreation industry and athletic coaching.

Duties include but are not limited to: teaching sport and recreation management undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Sport Management, Outdoor Recreation, Sport Tourism, Resort Recreation, Facility and Event Management, Sport and American Society, Sport Marketing and Promotion, and other related classes; also teaching graduate courses in the master’s degree program in Sport Leadership Management, working with College faculty to advance the curricular goals of Sport and Recreation Management on campus; research and scholarship in Sport and Recreation Management; attendance at faculty meetings and participate in faculty governance; supervising and advising students; assisting with the Sport Management And Recreation Team (SMART) Club or the e-Sports Club.

Required Qualifications: Master’s in Sport Management, Recreation, Park and Tourism, or a closely related field required (PhD or ABD preferred), evidence of research and scholarship in the field of sport and recreation management and/or sport leadership, understanding the distinction of teaching in an undergraduate, liberal arts curriculum; evidence of classroom teaching; work experience in sport management, e-Sports, or recreation-related field.

Preferred: experience teaching undergraduate and graduate sport and recreation management and/or sport leadership classes as the instructor of record; ability to teach subject matter specified in duties and/or possess relevant industry experience; ability to interact effectively with a wide and diverse range of students, colleagues, and sport industry professionals; familiarity with technology-supported learning pedagogy and ability to integrate technology into teaching; exhibit potential for research productivity and professional growth; evidence of strong written and oral communication skills; experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience.
