POSITION:               Chemistry Faculty – 2 open positions, Full-Time, Tenure Track, Assistant Professor

 REPORTS TO:         Department Chair – Biological & Physical Sciences and Mathematics

The Turock School of Arts and Sciences at Keystone College invites applications for two full-time, tenure track Assistant Professors of Chemistry to begin fall 2023. Keystone College and the Department of Biological & Physical Sciences and Mathematics views diversity as a valuable asset and welcomes all qualified candidates to apply.

A Ph.D. from a regionally or nationally accredited program is required in chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment. A demonstrable ability to teach undergraduate courses in chemistry and related fields for majors and non-majors is required. The ability to teach laboratory courses is required.  Experience with online teaching and learning is beneficial, as is bilingualism.  The candidate will participate in the development of new courses and curricula.

The successful applicant will exhibit a willingness to mentor undergraduate research projects, when necessary. The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. A strong commitment to teaching and mentorship of students is expected of all candidates.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be self-motivated.

Keystone College is a private, co-educational college where emphasis is on undergraduate education, and importance is placed on faculty mentored student research projects. The Turock School of Arts and Sciences strives to maintain a personalized, student-centered approach to teaching and a collaborative approach to productive undergraduate research.  Our degree programs include Chemistry, General Biology, Wildlife Biology, Microbiology, and Environmental Biology, Health Sciences, Environmental Science, and Public Health.
