REPORTS TO: Director of Children’s Center

JOB PURPOSE:

Performs the duties of a teacher in his/her absence by following the classroom schedule and the lesson plans of the teacher

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs the duties of a teacher in his/her absence by following the classroom schedule and the lesson plans of the teacher
  • Fulfills the responsibilities in accordance with the policies, procedures and the educational philosophy of the Children’s Center
  • Able to report to work on an on-call basis, often on the day before or early in the morning of the day he/she is asked to report for work

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Competencies and Education

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or related field and one-year experience working with young children, or CDA credential
  • Current background checks including Criminal History, Child Abuse, FBI, National Sex Offender registry and physical examination, including TB test, required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Able to supervise children by sight and sound
  • Physically able to participate actively with children in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities
  • Physically able to lift children and move classroom equipment
  • Able to relate in a positive manner with children and adults
  • Able to maintain a healthy and safe environment for the children
  • Able to report to work on an on-call basis, often on the day before or early in the morning of the day he/she is asked to report for work
