Keystone College graduate Lt. Col. Daniel Gager to address Keystone graduates at commencement

La Plume, Pa., – Lieutenant Colonel Daniel R. Gager, DCNG, will address the Keystone College Class of 2020 during the 149th annual commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23. Originally scheduled to be held at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain, Keystone’s graduation ceremony will be hosted virtually for the first time in the College’s 151-year history. Guest speakers for the event include: President Tracy L. Brundage, Ph.D., and Outstanding Graduate Daphne Leenas, as well as performances by Keystone’s Department of Performance Music. “We are honored to welcome Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Gager back to the Keystone community for this historic virtual graduation ceremony to celebrate the tremendous achievements of our Class of 2020,” said Dr. Brundage, the eleventh president at Keystone College. “He has forged a successful path in business and is a decorated military veteran who will inspire our students as they now enter the next chapter of their lives.”

Lt. Col. Gager is a member of the Keystone College Class of 1991. A business executive with more than 18 years of experience in leadership, portfolio management, and program management in government satellite communications and information technology, Lt. Col. Gager currently serves as Vice President of Business Development at COMSAT Inc., a global telecommunication company.

Prior to working at COMSAT, Lt. Col. Gager served as Executive Vice President at satellite hardware and engineering firm NAL Research; Director of Government Business Development at Iridium Satellite; as a satellite program manager at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA); program manager of the United States government’s $2B Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition; Gateway Satellite Systems Expert GIG Operations; and as DISA’s liaison to the CJ6, Multi National Forces, Baghdad Iraq.

Lt. Col. Gager’s active military service includes his current position as Cyber Security Officer for the United States Army National Guard in Washington, D.C., where he serves as a Congressional Affairs Officer. He previously served as an Operations Officer in the D.C. National Guard with the Office of the Legislative Liaison, National Guard Affairs, and as an Assistant Operations Officer, 102d Signal Battalion (Directorate of Information Management), in the United States Army stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany.

After receiving an associate degree in business administration from Keystone College, Lt. Col. Gager earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Cameron University. He is a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College.
