Keystone College will host the program, “Traveling with Ancient Friends: A Guided Tour of Greece for Gods and Non-Gods Alike” with Greece expert Mara Kanari on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 from 12:30–2:30 p.m. in Evans Hall in Hibbard Campus Center. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Maria Kanari is a professional guide specializing in Greece, Greek culture, and mythology. Her program will feature an illustrated lecture with images and music.

Born and raised in Athens, she graduated from Athens College and Greek National Guide School in Corfu. While leading tours, she received a second degree in humanities and Greek civilization from The Hellenic Open University. She speaks three languages and leads groups in Greek, English, and Japanese, highlighting all aspects of Greek civilization with a strong emphasis on the rich storytelling tradition of the Greeks.

She draws on myth, epic, and drama with compelling tales of common folk, gods, and heroes. Since 2001, she has delighted tourists from over 60 nations on visits to the mainland and islands of Greece, sharing with them her passion for story and her prodigious knowledge of history, archaeology, food, music, and culture.
