The Linder Gallery at Keystone College will present an exhibition of posters and sketches by internationally known rock concert poster and album art designer Brad Klausen from November 2-30 in the Linder Gallery on campus. A reception for the artist will be held Thursday, Nov. 6 from 5-7 p.m. in the Gallery and Mr. Klausen will speak about his work on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 2:15 p.m. in the Theatre in Brooks.

Mr. Klausen rose to prominence in Seattle, Wash., as the in-house designer for grunge rock pioneers Pearl Jam. He worked directly with members of Pearl Jam on albums such as “Lost Dogs,” “Riot Act,” and “Rearviewmirror.” According to Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder, Mr. Klausen was involved in every visual image the band presented for a period of 10 years.

In 2009, Mr. Klausen started a one-man company, Artillery Designs. While he still produces Pearl Jam posters, he’s also designed for U2, the Black Keys, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Widespread Panic, Explosions in the Sky, Alice in Chains, and Built to Spill.

In December 2010, Akashic Books published a book, “From a Basement in Seattle: The Post Art of Brad Klausen,” which featured 70 Mr. Klausen’s concert posters, from initial sketch to finished project.

“I was looking for a design show, something other than painting and photography exhibitions on the Gallery schedule,” said James Lansing, director of the Linder Gallery. “I owned some of Brad’s posters, so I just e-mailed and asked him to exhibit. He accepted right away.” Lansing continues, “I’m excited for students to see the show and the process Brad goes through when he designs.”
