Keystone College will celebrate the10th anniversary of the Oppenheim Family Children’s Center by hosting a tea to honor Jane Oppenheim on Friday, Oct. 17, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. as part of the college’s Homecoming Weekend celebration. Mrs. Oppenheim is a Keystone trustee, benefactor, and the driving force behind the construction of the early learning facility.
The public is invited to attend the tribute to Mrs. Oppenheim, which will honor her commitment to high quality early learning programs for young children.
The Oppenheim Family Children’s Center opened its doors to children, families, and the campus community in September of 2004. The state-of-the-art building houses four classrooms which serve children ages 2-5 during the day and primary age children after school. Two spacious outdoor playgrounds provide many opportunities for activities. Highly qualified teachers provide a developmental preschool program for the children, and the facility is a model lab site for students majoring in education at Keystone.
The Oppenheim Family Children’s Center maintains a Star 4 rating through Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars program and accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. For reservations, contact Sue Musheno, Keystone College School of Education, 570-945-8483.
