Prior Learning Assessment

PLA is another option for those who have knowledge and skills gained from work experience.  This is a way for a student to construct an extensive portfolio under the direction of a faculty mentor. If a student has good writing skills and is self-directed and persistent, he or she may be able to gain college credits without stepping into a classroom.
