Kathryn Giarratani Scholarship Fund of the Western PA Herb Society

To provide scholarships to undergraduate college and graduate students following a career path in horticulture/botany or related fields.

Eligibility:

• Pursue a degree or studies in: Horticulture, Botany, or related field
• Have a residence in: Western PA
• Institution at which to use scholarship: Chatham University, Delaware Valley College, Keystone College, PSU, Temple (Ambler College)
• Applicant must be a full-time Junior or Senior in college pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree or Post-Graduate degree.
• Complete an application.
• Awardee expected to report, in person, to the Western PA Unit at the end of the academic year in which the Scholarship is awarded. Presentation is to include knowledge acquired and experienced gained. Awardee will be hosted by a member of the Unit.
• Maintain a GPA of: 3.00
• Write and submit an essay: Three pages that include the following: (a) applicant?s general objectives and goals; (b) where courses are to be taken during scholarship year; (c) proposed content of applicant?s courses of study; (d) explanation as to why the stated field of study is important to applicant.
