What prompted you/your organization to establish and/or support a Keystone College scholarship?
“We wanted to offer financial help to children of our employees at Gertrude Hawk Chocolates who wanted to attend college at Keystone, where Elmer attended after WWII.”
What would you tell others to inspire them to establish a scholarship?
“It’s very rewarding to help our young people who want to attend college and need financial help. Outstanding students shouldn’t be denied the opportunity for a college education because of lack of money.”
What advice would you give to current and future scholarship recipients in regard to their educational pursuits?
“Take advantage of the opportunity to get as much education as you can. Work hard!! There are a lot of other benefits to college, in addition to your class work.”
Scholarship Luncheon
Keystone College holds an annual Scholarship Luncheon each November, offering scholarship donors an opportunity to meet the students who benefit from their kindness.
