Grants

Federal Pell Grant
The federal Pell Grant is considered to be the foundation of financial aid. Eligibility for this program is determined by annual completion of your Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). This is considered a need-based award.

Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
The Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant or SEOG is a grant awarded to students with exceptional financial need. Students who are Pell Grant eligible with the lowest EFCs will be the first to receive SEOG monies, which do not have to be repaid. Keystone College bases its SEOG awards on the EFC, demonstrated financial need, and funding available in the program.

Pennsylvania State Grant (PHEAA)
The Pennsylvania State Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) and provides grant assistance to undergraduate students enrolled in at least a two-year program and who are Pennsylvania residents. Eligibility is determined by PHEAA.

If you are receiving a PHEAA State Grant you must take 50% of your classes in the classroom. You cannot take all on-line classes and receive this grant. Hybrid Courses are not considered as online for the purpose of the PHEAA State Grant.

Summer PHEAA State Grants
PHEAA State Grants for summer courses are available and require a separate application which becomes accessible through “Account Access” on www.pheaa.org about mid-April. Students interested in taking at least six credits during the summer are encouraged to complete the application. Please keep in mind as you register that you must take at least 50% of your credits in a classroom setting during the summer if you plan on including on-line courses in your registration.  Additionally, PHEAA only allows a total of 8 semester payments of the PHEAA grant which includes any summer payments.

Other State Grant Programs
If you are not a Pennsylvania resident being considered for the PHEAA Grant, we encourage you to check with your state's Department of Education to inquire about using their grant program at Keystone College. Note: Not all states allow the exporting of their grant funds to other states.

Institutional Grants
Each student who applies to Keystone College, completes a FAFSA, and gets accepted, is considered for institutional grants. These grants are determined by the College and are need-based.
