When should I apply for financial aid?
High school seniors should file a FAFSA in January of their senior year. Returning college students should file a FAFSA annually in January.
While your Direct Master Promissory Note (MPN) remains active for 10 years, alternative and Parent PLUS loan applications must be done every year.
For PA residents the FAFSA must be filed prior to May 1 of each year in order to be considered for eligibility.
Our office recommends you file each year as early as possible. Some of our funding sources are limited and get exhausted quickly.
