- Anti-Virus Software
Keystone College has licensed ESET NOD32 anti-virus software for the entire campus community. This includes all College-owned machines, as well as personally owned computers used by our students and employees.
To get the software for your personally owned machine, please follow these instructions:
-
Log on to KC-Connect using your ID number and PIN.
-
Scroll down to find the ESET logo. If you do not see the logo, call the helpdesk (945-8778) for assistance.
-
Select the ESET logo to receive a username and password that is unique to you for license tracking purposes. You can use this username and password to install the software on all of the PC's that you own, but no others. Sharing the software with others is a violation of the license, and can be tracked back to you - so don't share these credentials with anyone!
-
Once you have your ESET username and password, download the proper software by choosing the correct version for your system below:
ESET NOD32 anti-virus software for Windows 32 bit operating system
ESET NOD32 anti-virus software for Windows 64 bit operating system - Click the link above to start download. Save the download to disk and then run it upon completion of the download process.
-
Use your ESET credentials as prompted to download the software. You will need them again later, so keep them handy.
-
Before installing NOD32, you MUST remove any other anti-virus software that may be on the machine. This is very important, as having more than one anti-virus program will, at the very least, create severe performance problems. If you are upgrading a previous version of NOD32, you may skip this step.
-
If the uninstall process that removed your old anti-virus software said to reboot your machine, do so before installing NOD32.
-
And, finally, run the NOD32 install program that you downloaded, and follow the onscreen prompts. There will not likely be any reason to change any of the settings - just let it go with the default options. When the installation process runs, it will also ask you for the ID and password that you retrieved via KC-Connect, and it will use those credentials to download updates from ESET. If your machine already had NOD32 installed, the existing credentials will be displayed. Make sure those match the ones you just downloaded from KC-Connect, and change them if necessary. Failure to do so could prevent your machine from receiving updates.
Expiration
The ESET user credentials that we distribute through this process expire every August. Around 10 days prior to expiration, the program will pop up a warning. When that happens, simply complete this installation process again to get the most recent software and new credentials via KC-Connect.
