Student Leader of the Month
The November Student Leader of the Month is Bill McLay. Bill is a junior at Keystone College enrolled in the Natural Sciences: General Biology program. Bill is working to establish a Ping Pong club on campus, is a member of the KC Science Society, a tutor, an SI Leader in Pre-calculus, and a recruiter for the Red Cross.
Bill is noted as someone who “has been especially helpful in the role as a SI Leader in Pre-calculus. He really is concerned about his fellow students and strives to help whenever he can.”
The Office of Student Activities wants to recognize student leaders who go above and beyond. At the end of each month, a Student Leader of the Month will be selected by the Office of Student Activities. This selection will be based upon online nominations received from Staff and Faculty.
To be selected as a student leader of the month the student must:
- Be in good social and academic standing with the college
- Exceed expectations as a student leader
- Be involved in at least one extracurricular college organization/club/sport, etc.
- Be recognized by a staff or faculty member of the college through the online nomination form
Each Student Leader of the Month will receive a certificate and be recognized through college publications such as KC Morning E-Notes. At the end of the academic year, the Office of Student Activities will recognize a Student Leader of the Year. This student will be selected from the list of Student Leaders of the Month from that academic year. This student will be recognized during the Leadership Reception and will receive a stipend and certificate.
