The Tutoring Office coordinates requests for academic help from students by offering on-campus and online tutoring. We have both peer and professional tutors ready and willing to work with you free of charge!
PEER TUTORS - are Keystone students who have earned at least 45 credits and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Peer tutors are scheduled for the days and hours they are available to assist students. Students should e-mail the tutor or stop by to schedule an appointment as most tutors are unavailable to work with drop-in students.
Interested in becoming a peer tutor? Any eligible student may apply to become a peer tutor by applying in the Human Resources Office (Ward Hall 3rd Floor). You have the option to earn credits or an hourly wage. A tutor must tutor for 30 hours to earn one credit. Students who earn a salary are limited to eight hours each week.
PROFESSIONAL TUTORS - have at least a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the subject area in which they tutor. The tutors’ e-mail addresses are listed on the tutoring schedules; students may e-mail their tutoring requests directly to the tutors. The tutor and the student will agree to meet at a mutually-convenient place and time.
Professional tutors are available in the Student Success Center from 5-9 p.m.
Students are welcome to study and use computers in the Center during this time as well.
Also, our Study Partner Peer Tutor program allows students to schedule an appointment with a study partner peer tutor for assistance in studying, preparing for an exam, reviewing a topic, class notes or an assignment. Find the tutoring schedule in Moodle.
For your convenience, the tutoring schedule now appears online in your Moodle classroom.
