Shane M. Venesky
Major: Pre-Physical Therapy
Class of: 2014
Hometown: Peckville, PA
Assigned Residence Hall: Moffat Hall
Favorite flavor ice cream: Smurf! That’s blueberry with marshmallows.
Interesting thing about you: A lot of people find this surprising, but my favorite thing to do is just to relax with a good book.
Favorite spot on campus: Upstairs in the library. It’s very quiet and often secluded, and the perfect place to catch up on some work.
Why did you choose your major? I’ve always had an interest in the human body and muscles in particular, and with some encouragement from my dad I knew it was the perfect fit.
Why did you decide on Keystone College? The small class sizes were very important to me, it’s great being able to have one-on-one discussions with your professors.
What do you like most about Keystone? I especially love Keystone’s campus, with the beautiful back campus and surrounding countryside, you’re never at the loss for an amazing view.
Favorite member of the Keystone Family: President Boehm. I couldn’t imagine a more respectable man to lead Keystone College, he’s a great leader and very active within the school community.
My favorite class: Any of my science labs. There’s nothing quite like getting hands on experience, and many of the experiments are actually very interesting and fun to do.
Give one thing you were surprised to discover at Keystone College: The variety of events that happen on campus. Between stand-up comedians, cornhole tournaments, and club events, there’s almost always something happening every week.
Advice for future students: Procrastination is every college student’s enemy. Trust me on this one.
In my spare time: Hanging with friends, working out at the gym (where some people say I live), or just reading a good book, if it’s fun I’ll be there!
Future Goals/Plans: I hope to one day operate my very own physical therapy clinic, and use the money to buy my dad that new set of teeth he’s always wanted.
How do you feel KC has, or will, help you in attaining these goals? The professional connections I can make here, as well as the career counseling services, will be sure to help me in pursuing my goals.
Anything else you want to share: Above and beyond all else remember to enjoy you’re time here at Keystone. The friends you’ll make and the experiences you’ll have are sure to last a lifetime.
