Contact the office of Housing and Residence Life for more information on singe room housing.
Will I be able to request a room change
It is the philosophy of the Office of Housing and Residence Life that room changes will not be typically permitted in the residence halls. It is our developmental philosophy the students learn to resolve conflict and communicate efficiently with their roommate. If resident students need assistance in this endeavor, they are encouraged to contact a Residence Life Staff member.
Can I have overnight guests?
Visitation hours Sunday through Thursday span from 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM. Overnight visitation is allowed on Friday and Saturday with a visitor's pass obtained from one of the Residence Life Staff members. All commuters and guests must be out of the halls by 11:00 p.m.
May I stay in the residence halls during break periods?
The college residence halls will be closed during Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break. The college does house students during Summer Sessions if the student meets the requirements met by the Summer Housing Contract. Please consult the academic calendar for the dates of the breaks mentioned above. If you have further questions regarding housing during breaks, please contact the Office of Housing and residence Life.
Will I have an Internet connection in my room?
Keystone College residence halls all provide connectivity to the campus network and the Internet. Each building has either hardwired 10/100 Ethernet ports in students rooms or an 802.11b wireless system a.k.a "Wi-Fi". No building has both.
Tewksbury, Hollinshed, Davis, and the Keystone Commons buildings are equipped with 10/100 Ethernet. These connections are ideal for use with desktop computer systems, and are highly reliable. Problems with network ports are usually remedied within a few days.
Moffat and Frear/Reynolds Residence Halls have wireless connectivity via an array of strategically placed wireless access points. Since many factors influence wireless reception (distance to nearest access point, interference from other electronic devices, student equipment capability, etc.), the College cannot guarantee signal strength. In the event of reception problems, the College will assist in verifying proper setup of student equipment, but may be unable to provide a usable signal in some rooms.
May I have pets in the residence halls?
Pets, with the exception of fish, are not permitted in the residence halls. Ten-gallon (maximum) fish aquariums are permitted in the residence halls.
Are there any restrictions on noise in the residence halls?
In most halls, quiet hours are from 8 PM to 8 Am Sunday through Thursday and 12 AM to 10AM Friday and Saturday. Tewksbury Hall follows a 24 hour quiet policy. All residence halls have 24 hour courtesy hours in order to promote an optimal living-learning environment.
How do I use the telephone service?
Resident students are required to bring their own phone, but voicemail is provided in each room at no cost. On-campus and local calls are free. Long distance calls will require a phone card.
Can I bring a refrigerator or microwave for my room?
