"Sharing Her Talent And Love of Art with Her Students"

Judi Keats loves teaching at Keystone College and she doesn’t hesitate to let everyone know exactly how she feels. For Judi, an associate professor of fine arts, Keystone is a “unique, radiant, gem among colleges” for many reasons.

“I feel Keystone’s dynamic vigor each time I set foot upon the beautiful, naturally lush, green campus. The Keystone community of students, staff, faculty, and administration create a vibrant energy that resonates a positive, engaging, and dynamic spirit.”

As a practicing professional artist for over 25 years, Judy brings a wealth of real-world experience to her classroom studio. She also introduces her students to the business side of art, providing instruction on promoting, selling, and exhibiting works of art.

“The smaller studio classes at Keystone afford a more personalized educational experience, providing enriched mentoring opportunities and leadership possibilities.  I delight in teaching smaller studio classes as I am able to more readily identify, acknowledge, and support the individual learning needs of my students.”

While Judi loves teaching at Keystone, her students feel the same way about her.

“Judi provides an emphasis on the traditional academic fundamentals that help build a solid foundation for further growth and encourages her students to explore their talents and skills, which in turn helps foster confidence in their own self expression,” says Keystone art student Tristan Hatfield.

Judi realizes the Keystone experience of personal attention and individual education isn’t limited to the art faculty.

“The entire Keystone faculty is truly committed to supporting a student-centered learning/living community which includes real-world experiences that assist students in empowering their dreams and achieving their goals.”
