"Follow Your Dreams"

Kimberly Kaminsky has a great piece of advice for anyone trying to decide on a college major or possible career: “Pursuing what you love will make you the happiest and most fulfilled person you can be. You’ll work harder to achieve your goals if you really enjoy what you’re doing.”

When it comes to her life, Kimberly definitely follows her own advice. A senior biology major, she’s making great strides pursuing her goal of becoming a physician’s assistant. She’s completed an internship at The Commonwealth Medical College and a public health internship in the city of Chicago. She’s also a certified emergency management technician and is looking forward to attending graduate school.

“I think my science education at Keystone has been great and my professors are really knowledgeable and interesting. I’m looking forward to graduate school and I know I’ll be well prepared.”

When she’s not studying, Kimberly has many other interests that keep her busy. Besides her hobbies of running and dancing, Kimberly’s three-year old daughter, Liliana, is her source of joy and inspiration.

“Going to school and being a Mom is definitely a balancing act but it can be done if you stay organized and focused. Getting help from family and friends means a great deal. You have to make sure you have your priorities in order. The most important thing is stay positive and care for the people around you. Then, anything is possible.”
