"A Great Internship Will Lead to a Great Career"
Keystone College senior Stacey Preambo dreams of pursuing a career in sports and recreation management. After spending last summer interning with the Washington Redskins, there’s a good chance that dream might come true.
"I really loved the time I spent working for the Redskins.
It was a great summer!”
Stacey spent 10 weeks working for the Redskins and was mainly involved with the team’s Kids Club, a program which sponsors activities and contests for the team’s youngest fans.
“I went to an interview at the Sports Industry Networking Conference in Washington, D.C. and met a women from the Redskins. I sent her my resume and writing samples, went for an interview and started a few days later."
Stacey, a sport and recreation management major, has stayed in touch with the team in the hope that last year’s internship could lead to a full-time position. “That would be absolutely great. I would really love to go back and work for the Redskins.”
Regardless of where she eventually works, Stacey realizes her Keystone education has prepared her for a meaningful career. “At Keystone, the faculty really cares about how the students perform in class and make an effort to get to know them. Attending a smaller school makes it easier to get to know people and feel more comfortable in a college environment. I think that’s really important, especially if you’re a first-year student.”
