Meg Fry

Major: Communications
Graduation Year: 2014

"Busy is Better!"

Meg Fry knows what its like to be active …. really active. That’s okay because Megan has the energy, drive, and desire to get things done.

A senior communications major, Meg is well on her way to a successful journalism career, with a focus on sports reporting. She is currently doing excellent work as an intern for a local newspaper, covering both news and sports. She’s also writes for The Key, Keystone’s student newspaper, and is writing news and feature stories on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins minor league hockey team for her senior capstone project.

“Journalism combines all of my interests and passions into a single career. I can see myself happy and excited about it 20 years from now. Every day is brand new and journalists must get used to covering a variety of different topics. That means I’ll always be learning something new and that is most appealing to me.”

Meg’s on-campus life doesn’t stop with her journalistic pursuits. She’s a four-year member of the Keystone field hockey team and serves as a student housing resident assistant. She’s also a member of the Keystone Honor Society and participates in a variety of events with that organization.

“I love Keystone because there is so much to get involved in. Being a member of the field hockey team has been rewarding and fun. I’ve been able to play a sport that I love and still find time to devote to my academics and other activities. It’s really been the best of all worlds.”
