Keystone College will host two free concerts this month.
The concert, Acts of Kindness, will take place on Sunday, April 23 from 7–8 p.m. in the Theatre In Brooks. The concert will feature the Keystone Symphonic Band, the Chorale at Keystone, Keystone Voices, and the Keystone Chamber Singers, a total of more than 100 musicians. Featured works will include Gustav Holst’s Moorside March, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, and Morten Lauridsen’s Les Chansons Des Roses.
The second concert, Moments to Remember, will take place on Sunday, April 30 from 7-8 p.m. in the Theatre In Brooks. The concert will feature the Keystone College Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Vocal Jazz Singers, and selected soloists. Featured tunes include, How High the Moon, I Get a Kick Out of You, Wonderful, Superstition, and When I Fall in Love.
Jazz vocal soloists include Trista Carpenter; West Abington; Alyssa Walker, Dalton; Mariana Correa Costa, Scranton, and Alex Nebraski, Covington Twp. Megan Horwatt, director of vocal music, is a graduate of nearby Lackawanna Trail High School.
Both concerts are free of charge as Keystone’s gift to the community and no reservations are required. There will be representatives from local charities present to accept donations.
