La Plume -- Keystone College will celebrate its 2012 Homecoming on Saturday, October 13. The events welcome alumni and friends to the Keystone campus and students are invited to join in the festivities.

Member of the class of 1962, gathering in honor of their 50th anniversary of their graduation, will kick off festivities with a champagne brunch at Hedgewood, the residence of Keystone College President Dr. and Mrs. Edward G. Boehm, Jr.

The annual homecoming parade begins at 11 a.m. on College Avenue in Factoryville, followed by a picnic on the College Green during which alumni award recipients will be announced. Award winners include: J. Frederick Friden ’51, Distinguished Service to Keystone College; Suzanne Fisher Staples ’65, Keystonian of the Year and Scott Gower ’06, Young Alumni of the Year.

Other Saturday activities include a guided hike of Keystone’s Woodlands campus, several athletic contests, and the announcement of the Homecoming Court. Among other activities, guests will meet for a casual gathering at the college’s Ravine Amphitheater. There will also be glassmaking demonstrations throughout the day in the Wilbur E. Myers Glass Studio. 

Keystone will also induct members into the Athletics Hall of Fame during a reception beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Theatre in Brooks. This year’s class includes Allan Wolfe ’61, baseball and basketball; Lori Crawford Baltruchitis ’86, basketball, field hockey, and softball; Scott Marabell ’84, baseball; and Scott Grimes ’05, baseball. There will be a reception at 5:30 p.m. in the Gambal Athletic Center honoring the inductees.

Saturday evening features the annual Gold Club Dinner honoring the class of 1962; a Silver Reunion Reception celebrating alumni from the classes of 1983-1987, and a young alumni gathering at Kildare’s in Scranton.
