Artist Jennie Barrese to Exhibit Digital Photographs
LA PLUME (JANUARY 12, 2012) -- The Linder Gallery at Keystone College will present an exhibition of photographs by New York artist Jennie Barrese from February 5 through March 9 on the Keystone campus in La Plume. The exhibit will feature a reception for the artist on Sunday, February 12 from 4-6 pm in the Gallery, and the public is invited.
Ms. Barrese is a native of Scranton, Pa. and graduated from Keystone College with an associate’s degree in fine arts before completing her education at Syracuse University. Though trained in traditional photography, her artwork involves digital manipulation of photos to produce unusual composites. In her recent series “Collide” (included in the Keystone exhibit), Ms. Barrese’s artwork features elements of the human figure in strange and visually challenging arrangements.
“I’ve been looking forward to this exhibit since I first saw Jennie Barrese’s artwork in our alumni exhibit two years ago,” said Drake Gómez, director of the Linder Gallery. “We’re privileged to have her as an alumnus and now as an exhibiting artist at Keystone.”
Jennie Barrese’s artwork has been exhibited in New York City, Jersey City, N.J., Washington, D.C., Savannah, Ga., and Syracuse, N.Y., in addition to sites in Pennsylvania. She is represented by the Raandesk Gallery in Chelsea, N.Y.
Ms. Barrese will give a presentation on her artwork on Mon., Feb.13, at 9:45 a.m. in the Fireplace Lounge of Hibbard Campus Center.
