Judith Lynn Keats to Exhibit Paintings in Linder Gallery
La Plume -- The Linder Gallery at Keystone College will present an exhibition of paintings and mixed media artwork by Bear Creek artist Judith Lynn Keats from September 19 through October 17 on the Keystone campus in La Plume. The exhibit Awaken Beloved: Grid Maps and Mystical Icons will open with a reception for the artist on Sunday, September 19 from 4-6 p.m. in the Gallery, and the public is invited.
Ms. Keats’ paintings investigate humanity’s relationship and interconnectedness to life, compassion, creativity and the divine. Through recurring visual motifs, such as spirals, squares, triangles, and V-shaped icons, the artist offers her interpretation of the spiritual and physical realms of existence.
“The spiritual realm speaks to us through our visions, dreams, symbols and feelings in our heart,” Ms. Keats writes in her artist’s statement. “My art making practice is essentially a vision quest for me—a spiritual journey that continues to unfold.”
Judith Keats’ artwork is in private, corporate, and public collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. A graduate of the Interdisciplinary Arts program at Goddard College, she is currently an assistant professor in the fine arts division at Keystone College.
The artist will give a presentation on her paintings on Monday, September 27, at 9:45 am in Hibbard Campus Center.
