La Plume – Keystone College has officially been enrolled as a member of the Pittsburgh Promise scholarship program.

The Pittsburgh Promise is a non profit-organization that provides scholarship assistance to Pittsburgh public school students who would like to go to college but need additional financial support to do so.

The Promise relies on public and private donations from organizations and businesses in the Pittsburgh area for students to attend public and private colleges and universities throughout Pennsylvania.

Since 2008, the Promise has spent $32 million on scholarships, helping nearly 4,000 students attend two-year and four-year college programs. Students who have lived in the city of Pittsburgh and attended city schools since the ninth grade, maintain a 90 percent attendance record, and achieve at least a 2.5 grade-point average can obtain up to $10,000 a year for four years to attend a college in Pennsylvania.

Being accepted as a member of the Pittsburgh Promise will enable students to use their financial assistance awards to attend Keystone College.
