Deliah Hobbs

Mofyah Step Team member

Major: Social Science

Class: 2013

The green hills and valleys of Northeast Pennsylvania are a far cry from the concrete streets of Brooklyn, N.Y. and that’s exactly the way Deliah Hobbs likes it. Deliah left her native Brooklyn to attend Keystone College because she appreciated the natural beauty of Keystone’s 270-acre campus.

“I decided to attend Keystone because the campus was the opposite of the city and I felt it was time for a change.”

A sophomore social science major, Deliah hopes to pursue a career in social work, possibly specializing in foster care and adoption. She says her Keystone education, both inside and outside of the classroom, will help her achieve her goals.

“I am learning a lot at Keystone, including life lessons that help me in addition to the classes I am taking.”

Deliah’s favorite teacher is her history professor, Janet Wrightnour. “She makes every lesson interesting. Her spirit is incredible, even on a cold rainy day.”

What surprised Deliah most about life at Keystone?

“I was amazed at how delicious the food is here. I don’t mind missing my mother’s cooking!”
