Jenny Kochis

Major: Early Childhood Special Education

Class: 2012

Now that she has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/special education, Jenny Kochis knows exactly what she wants to do with the rest of her life.

Thanks to her Keystone College education and a strong belief in herself, she’s ready to achieve her goals. A 2012 Keystone graduate, Jenny will no doubt be a great special education teacher, helping young children lead better, more productive lives.

“”My field placement at Audubon Elementary School in the autistic support classroom in the spring of 2011 was a phenomenal experience. I learned so much there about what it means to be a successful special education teacher.”

Jenny recently used her Audubon Elementary classroom experience and her experience at a local home for special needs children to compile a senior research project on the “Impact of Early Intervention on Autism.” Her work was recently displayed at Keystone’s Spring Undergraduate Research and Creativity Celebration.

“Thanks to those experiences, and to Keystone professors such as education professor Dr. Jim Gilhooley, I’m ready to be a special education teacher. I know it’s what I want to do with the rest of my life.”
