Giants' Food Pantry

Food Insecurity

“Food insecurity” has become a troubling trend across college campuses nationwide. Defined as a lack of reliable access to a sufficient quantity of nutritious food, food insecurity is an added stressor for college students and can negatively impact their academic success.

Studies report that 56 percent of all first-generation college students are food insecure and approximately 53 percent of food insecure students reported missing a class and 25 percent reported dropping a class (College and University Food Bank Alliance, 2016).

Keystone College Food Pantry

Supporting and encouraging our peers is an integral part of what makes Keystone special. To help address the food insecurity problem at Keystone College and support our students, Counseling and Well-Being Center opened the Giants’ Food Pantry, an on-campus college food pantry. Located in the Counseling and Well-Being Center on the first floor of Tewksbury Hall, the Giants’ Pantry is open to all Keystone students who present an active KeyKard. Students may visit the pantry once per month.

Donations of non-perishable food items may be dropped off Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Counseling and Well-Being Center, located in Tewksbury Hall.
